Of all the skills you need for racing success, the ability to take advantage of windshifts may be the most valuable.
The wind direction is always changing – that's why we'll examine a bunch of specific windshift tips, tactics, and strategies during this in-depth, three-part webinar. This series will focus on persistent and oscillating shifts and how they apply to every kind of boat, both upwind and downwind. Topics include predicting the next shift, how to know if the wind is oscillating or persistent, when to tack (or not tack) on a header; shifts versus puffs; why you should sail fast on a lift; why you should play the last shift as persistent (even if the wind is oscillating); and much more!
The webinar begins Monday, February 24 at 8:00 pm US Eastern time (GMT -5) and continues on the following two Mondays. Each session is 90+ minutes and includes videos, diagrams, animations, and quizzes. Participant questions are welcome throughout!
February 24 Upwind – PERSISTENT Shifts
