2023 Women Representing LNYC in Championship Events

Congratulations to Carol Claypool, Kasia Fthenos and Iza Fthenos for representing the women of Lake Norman Yacht Club in two Championships during the month of July.
July 14th through the 16th, Carol Claypool, her sister, Nancy Claypool and Carrie Berger were the winners of the 2023 Women's Flying Scot National Championship at Westhampton Yacht Squadron in Moriches Bay, Remsenburg, New York.
Kasia Fthenos and her daughter Iza took 2nd place in the SAYRA (South Atlantic Yacht Racing Association) Women's Championship at the South Carolina Yacht Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina during the weekend of July 21st. Additionally, Steve Shaw and Tim Porter placed 3rd in the Club Champs Division which ran parallel to the Women's racing.
The Lake Norman Yacht Club is very fortunate to have these talented sailors at our club!
