LNYC 2020 Commodore Communications

Good evening LNYC Members,

Your Board met last evening via teleconference to discuss and amend the current Covid 19 Resolution passed on March 30, 2020. Governor Roy Cooper and the State of NC have extended the stay at home order until May 8, 2020. It is the Boards unanimous feeling that we should continue the policy enacted on March 30 through May 11, 2020 at which time we will meet again to formulate new policy. There is one addition to the policy the Children's Playground is closed too.

The following Scheduled events have been cancelled:

Club Series 3, Saturday May 8, 2020 and Sunday May 9, 2020

Club Series Dinner, Saturday May 8, 2020

Junior Series 4, May 9, 2020

The Spring Meeting is rescheduled for June 13, 2020.

So much for the bad news. I will speak on behalf of the Board; we are anxious to begin sailing again. I am confident when the Stay at home order has been lifted, we will begin opening the Club and resume some form of sailing. It will not be business as usual and there will be specific protocols in place to protect our members. May will be named Family Sailing Month. We encourage you to sail with family members at every opportunity. Keep in mind Social Distancing Protocols are in place at LNYC and across the state.
