20th Annual Hospice Regatta Sept. 12-13
Published 6:34pm on 7 Sep 2020
Since 2001, the Lake Norman Hospice Regatta & Party has raised over $1.35M (net) for Hospice and Palliative Lake Norman. In 2019, the Regatta raised $31,000. Thanks to all who have helped make this such a fantastic event over the past 20 years.
The 2020 Lake Norman Hospice Regatta is being held with several modifications due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This event is a great way to get back together and enjoy being on the water. However, we will follow the CDC, State of North Carolina, LNYC and local recommendations during this event such as social distancing, frequent hand washing and the use of a face mask especially when on land. The safety of our members, guests and staff are the driving force for the modifications to this annual event.
The biggest change as a result of the pandemic is that all social events--and therefore all fundraising events have been cancelled. If you are able, please consider making a donation to Hospice and Palliative Care Lake Norman through its parent site.
Lake Norman Yacht Club (LNYC) is the organizing authority and host of The Lake Norman Hospice Regatta. The Lake Norman Hospice Regatta is a proud member of the National Hospice Regatta Alliance, a national network of regattas that raise money and awareness for hospice care. The Regatta is a qualifying event for the Hospice Regattas Championship to be held in 2021. The selected Champion of our Regatta will represent Hospice & Palliative Care Lake Norman (www.hpccr.org) and our community at the National Championship. The skipper and crew will compete against the winners of other Hospice regattas of 2020. (For more information, visit www.hospiceregattas.org).
